Water pollution holds a grave threat not only to marine animals but also to human beings. It is a given fact that the very organisms who wanted clean air and water are the ones polluting them. What they didn't know, or don't want to acknowledge is the fact that they are the ones greatly affected by pollution.
The article is about the presence of sticky substance found in the waters of Gunnamatta, Australia. The Environment Protection Authority supposes that the substance found was silicone. Silicone is utilized widely in everyday tools and workplaces, but is highly dangerous if not used properly.
The Clean Ocean Foundation conducted tests to verify the toxicity of the water. They found out that the substance was scattered thinly along coastlines. They pose the possibility that it may have come from a shipping vessel. The shipping vessel was being cleaned, and silicone is used as one of the dirt deterrents.
As of the articles press time, several more tests are conducted to ensure that the people and the animals in the area are safe from the possible harmful effects the silicone pollution might bring.
