The work is about a medium sized travel agency company which we researched and also gathered some information about it. We researched it like interview system. And after researching we saw some problem of this company that's why we also write a report of this company.

The report is presenting to the middle managers about this medium sized travel agency. The key aspect of this report is to help managers gain a better understanding of the company which this report contains. We provided much information about this travel agency by taking interview and also write a report that helps managers to take proper decisions about this company for its future.

The purpose of the report is to provide information about a travel agency company. Our wish it helps company members to run their company efficiently and also gain profits in doing so. To do this effectively this report will teach our readers to understand what they should need to improve, how they avoid their mistakes and so on. This report is very crucial into recognising about company operating efficiently and what makes company a success and not failure. Furthermore, managers will also gain enhanced knowledge on how to control their staff or even how to improve their company to effectively reach their targeted aims. Controlling a company is tough and therefore being aware of the key strategies in businesses is critical, it is considered that business failure occurs due to lack of control and knowledge. Therefore it is our hope that this report will help managers to successes.

The report contains key questions, examples and information to mangers. For examples; how to communicate, how to improve communication policies and procedures, what are organisational charts and relevant legislation and how to improve, how to improve policies and procedure of a company, benefits of team working, how structure support for staff, how HR support this company, how remote worker can be managed and so on.

This report has been divided into two sections; firstly we research a medium sized travel agency company according to its communication practices, team working practices and leadership styles and support structure for staff. And secondly we write a report about this company according to research that how can we improve those things.

RESEARCH:

Communication practices: In this company there are some policies and procedures. Employees can use emails, telephones and mobiles etc to communicate with each other when they need. But they do not use these technologies often. For example: when an employee need some documents or want to discuss some important problems with other employees then they use emails, telephones and mobiles etc. Managers and directors are also doing the same things. However when employees face problems they can communicate with their managers, but they cannot communicated directly with their directors. For instance: staff cannot get proper support from directors in this company day by day the communication gap increase between staff and directors. In here both staff and mangers arrange meetings every month and only in that time staff can directly communicated with their directors and they can also discuss about their business matters. In this case though staff and managers have lots of problems but they have to wait for monthly meetings to discuss their problems with their directors. On the other hand in this company an organisational chart is used and allows workers to see exactly where they stand in this company's hierarchy, this helps eliminate questions from workers on who they should report to, especially if staff appointed managers to oversee certain tasks at the business. But it does not focus on hierarchy with multiple levels of communication responsibilities in a company and employees cannot develop their own projects. Because this company have no huge space for staff that's why staff are not satisfied about their jobs, the economic and efficient performance of the company is not good, they cannot creates a frame work of order and command through which the activities of the organisation can be planned, organised, directed and control. We are observing from here these things are happening because the lack of tasks and responsibilities, work roles and relationships and channels of communication. However there is some legislation in this company, these are: misleading consumers about an item's price, or the way in which the price is worked out, misleading consumers by claiming a price advantage that doesn't exist. For example making a false claim that your products are cheaper than a competitor's, leaving out details of extra hidden costs - such as taxes, delivery or postal charges. There are also some other legislation. They will also need to comply with other legislation that covers pricing practices, including the Consumer Protection Regulations 2000, Consumer Credit Act 1974, and Price Marking Order 2004. There are specific regulations covering pricing information provided by certain types of business, but they can find out more about the specific regulations that may apply to your type of business from their local authority trading standards service.

Team working practices and leadership styles: Though highly flexible work spaces for each member of team, a conference room for clients or team meetings, high speed wireless or wired internet access, a colour printer, copier, fax machine and video projectors are available in this company. But team work is not good because all directions come from directors and managers. They take their own decisions. Directors and managers think no need to discuss with staff, so staff do not have any opportunity for personal development and they cannot do anything for their company. Though staff are working together here as a team but they cannot motivate each other. They always need to obey directions from managers so there is no team leader, communication gap between employees and directors, employees cannot use their ability or skills etc. For that reason employees are not being able to individual skills and experiences. Because of poor team work company face some problems. For instance: company cannot run properly, loss profit etc. In this company directors and managers forced and threatened staff to do their work. For example: managers always keep their staff busy, staff cannot go home without managers permission, their lunch time is too short, every day they have to do lot of works etc. Directors and managers think that the average staff of this office are lazy, dislike working and avoid responsibility. For that reason they must be concerned, controlled, directed and threatened with punishment by managers and directors. Staff are supervised at every step by managers in here. So we observed that employees are not happy here they are tortured by managers and directors. Very often managers and directors are behaving rudely. But managers are free here they can take decisions what they want. Because directors give rights to managers to take decisions. So managers are satisfied with their jobs and all managers can work to gather. So from our point of view this company's leader ship styles for staff is theory X and for manager is empowerment. Staff have no right to do anything without permission. They always need to attend office. On the other hand directors and managers can take decisions for their company. They do not need to attend office regularly. Managers and directors can work remotely with their staff. They think it save time, credit and energy etc. When directors and managers are in holiday they can also give directions to their staff and also help their customers. But this company's remote worker cannot manage everything properly because only directors and managers can work remotely here. For that reason they cannot full fill customer satisfaction. For example: in this company when some staff are absent company faces some big problems because the lack of remote workers.

Support structure for staff: Moreover this company structures are not helpful for staff because managers can communicate with director directly but staff cannot communicated directly with their directors. Staff can only communicate with line managers and then line managers talk to middle managers and then middle managers talk to director so it is a long process. For example in that case staff are not satisfied about their jobs, they cannot take any decisions, there are gap between directors and staff and so on. Furthermore the economic and efficient performance of the company is not good, they cannot creates a frame work of order and command through which the activities of the organisation can be planned, organised, directed and control. And also they cannot ensuring the correct policies and procedures in workplace. We are observing from here these things are happening because the lack of tasks and responsibilities, work roles and relationships and channels of communication. For that reason this company often need to change their staff and for changing staff this company lost many experience staff. On the other hand HR (Human Resource) department support here. In this company HR department assessing developments needs, dealing with disciplinary issues and also supporting those leaving organisations. For example: retirement, redundancy. In this company men and women have no equal rights, no equal opportunities but any people can work here. But this company's policies and procedures are only British people can get promotion; they can be leader or remote worker. For example: a British employee and an Asian employee they two are doing well and hard working person but in this case that British person can get promotion not that Asian. There are many opportunities for British people. On the other hand women are also cannot get promotion if she is a British person or not. There is some job discrimination in here that are: women cannot be manager or team leader, discrimination between Asian people and European people etc. Office employees are not well behaving with office cleaners they cannot tolerated them. Pregnancy women are not allowing here. For example: if any women being pregnant here she has to leave this company. Staff needs to wear official dress all time but for managers there is no bindings or no rule. In this company there are also discrimination between line managers and middle managers. For example: in this office middle managers can take decisions but line managers cannot. Middle managers can be remote worker but line managers cannot.
