Product is an impotant component of marketing mix. A product must be designed in such a way that customers would accept it and want to buy the product. This is a very challenging task. Customers do not buy mere products. They seek the benefits that the product gives and are often willing to pay more for a brand that genuinely fulfills their want
Product can be defined as anything that is offered to a market for attention, acquisition, use or consumption and that might satisfy a want or need. Products include more than just tangible goods. It includes physical objects, services, persons, places, organizations, ideas or mixes of these entities. (KOTLER, 2005).

A core product exists only if it satisfies the basic need of an individual. It has to be from a well reputed brand with some extra features to form an actual product so as to compete with other products in the market. To make the product more customers focused certain other features like after sales customer services, financing facilities and delivery services can added to form an augmented product. Considering these aspects of product, Bharti Airtel introduced all its products under the well known brand AIRTEL and focused on after sales services especially on 24/7 customer care. Airtel is known for its best customer care solutions and was awarded as the Best Billing or Customer Care Solution in 2008 by GSMA. (http://www.globalmobileawards.com/history/history.shtml, )
